Many successful working mothers are single. They have worked their way through the employment ranks with shining colours. They then come home and are the sole carer of their children. These hard working women have made it at work and made it work at home. The results of this busy lifestyle (by choice or otherwise) can be the inability (often due to logistical reasons) to find a partner.
As I suggested in previous articles relating to couples every working mother needs some pampering and ‘love’ in their life. This should not be something that a single, working mother has to forgo due to her situation. These mothers need to schedule date nights into their schedule at least one a month. If a friend, colleague, parent, sibling or babysitter is not available, often daycare or childcare centres have ‘sleep over nights’ on Friday nights and the weekends. This can be a great opportunity for you to get out – even with a girlfriend- and enjoy yourself. Speed dating, single nights, double dating with friends or just a night out with the girls are all great opportunities to have fun and possibly meet someone.
If partying is not for you, then maybe join a dance or art class, a rock climbing group, or take a class in something that you are really interested in. Whatever it is make sure it is fun, stress free and all about you. Every mother needs an outlet to keep their sanity and to have some fun in their life.
